Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower
The Piazza del Duomo in Pisa is for me an inexhaustible source of wonder and surprise on account of its unique architecture and decoration, and its perfect medieval symbolism. Pisa is much more than the Leaning Tower, it is the history of the glorious Maritime Republic thanks to which “everything began”.
The baptistery and its divine gothic crowning, the perfectly proportioned cathedral, the elegant leaning tower, the amazing cemetery, the ancient hospital converted into a museum of preparatory fresco cartoons and the wonderful museum of the works of the cathedral, entirely restored, make up a monumental complex that should not be visited hastily.
On the contrary, you should take your time to learn about its brilliant architects and sculptors, to visit monuments of incredible richness, and to let yourself be enchanted by the balance and harmony that reigns everywhere.
160 euros for a 2-hour tour. 180 euros for a 3-hour tour. For a full day, the prices are twice as much as for a half day and are per group and not per person.
Admission fees for museums/monuments are not included and are optional.
Reservations to climb the tower should be made in advance. Ask me for more information.
